What made you choose to work for Nestlé Purina? What makes you stay at Nestlé Purina?

I always wanted to work for a big company, which cared about the world's needs. When being interviewed four years ago I realized Nestlé cares about people and pets and environment in the long term, which makes it grow every year and develop new products or brands that will walk with people in their everyday activities. If the company grows I also have opportunities to continue growing here, while my current position helps me to understand all the aspects of the company and understand key processes of the business, I am committed with Nestlé every day.

What's your favorite or most rewarding part of working for Nestlé Purina?

All the challenges that I face every day when auditing different facilities, working with different people and coming back to that facility after some months and seeing that the changes proposed are implemented. I also enjoy receiving a phone call from a person asking for help, it is a great feeling that my work was worthy.

How has Nestlé Purina helped you grow professionally?

It has helped me a lot. I joined Nestlé México as an intern and after 6 months I was hired as a direct employee for a Finance role. Almost two years ago I moved to Nestlé Market Audit and three months ago I was promoted as a team lead, so all big changes in four years. It is a company full of opportunities that combined with our effort has great results.

Walk us through your typical day at the office.

When we are not in fieldwork for an audit, I start the day with a quick review of my desk, prepare my coffee, answer emails, prepare the audit with my team, attend meetings, read reports and different sources of information. When I am in fieldwork, I prepare my coffee and each of us has a previously planned section assigned, so I execute the steps and support my team on anything they may need. The last week of fieldwork becomes busier than the rest, trying to get management action plans for the issues we found, reviewing the team's work papers and preparing with the Manager to release the report as soon as the audit is done. I have fun all the time and really enjoy audit work.

What's something about working with Nestlé Purina that has surprised you?

When joining Nestlé I was surprised to see the number of different products the company has. I remember my first interview to be hired as an intern, entering the Head Office and waiting to be received, looking at all the brands and products, I realized I was entering a company that cares about everybody, from a baby to a pet.

What is the most exciting thing you are involved in outside of work?

Traveling with my family or friends; I love going to different places, knowing cultures, exploring countries/cities and having fun wherever I am.

What items in your office could you not live without?

My laptop, a pen and piece of paper.

What's your favorite place to relax and unwind?

It is in México City, a place called Condesa full of restaurants, bars and parks. You can have a great time there at any time of the day. Sometimes I take a walk with Rufus in one of the parks, then my friends join us and we have some food in any restaurant with tables outside on a sunny day.

What's the most thrilling vacation you ever took?

It was eight years ago with my older sister in Europe. We were in an adventure trip around Spain, Portugal and Germany without having a hotel reservation or flights between those countries, so we would catch trains and buses when we could and looked for hotels according to that moment. But at the end we visited everything that we wanted to, it was a great experience and a real adventure that I would do again!!!
