What made you choose to work for Nestlé Purina? What makes you stay at Nestlé Purina?

I'm originally from Michigan and have been around the automotive industry throughout my life, so the most that I knew of Purina was that they made pet food. I had never thought of Purina as a potential employer. I went to the Chicago career fair and had spoke to the Davenport plant HR personnel. The people were really personable; I figured I would give it a shot. If anything it would be good for interviewing skills. When I interviewed, I was overwhelmed by the sense of "family." It felt like a home away from home. It’s the main reason I took the job and one of the many reasons I am still here over 11 years later.

What's your favorite or most rewarding part of working for Nestlé Purina?

Working with a team of people that have an unbelievable wealth of knowledge from the pet care industry and have a personal interest in your personal and professional well-being.

If you knew then, what you know now, what's one piece of advice you would give to someone coming into the company?

Spend a lot of time learning from pet food veterans and work on networking throughout our business.

What's something about working with Nestlé Purina that has surprised you?

A great environment to succeed and continually surpass your goals makes 11.5 years go by fast!

If you weren’t doing your current job, what would you be doing?

Learning about new and interesting areas I haven’t been involved in yet. They would most likely involve cultures around the world and the opportunity to experience them in person.

What’s the most thrilling vacation you ever took?

Backpacking through Europe was a vacation of a lifetime.
