What's your favorite or most rewarding part of working for Nestlé Purina?
The people are what make it worth coming to work everyday. It doesn’t matter where in the world you land as long as you are in the presence of fun, interesting, thoughtful, and genuine individuals.
If you knew then, what you know now, what's one piece of advice you would give to someone coming into the company?
Find people that want you to succeed whether that is your peers, your manager, or a mentor.
What are your long-term career goals at Nestlé Purina?
To meet as many people within the company as possible, visit as many factories as I can, and gain as many best practices that my career will allow me to.
What are some perks at Nestlé Purina that you enjoy?
The beauty of our lobby in the Tower. I love the picture of our "Board of Directors," the coffee shop, the park, and of course the discounted pet food. I would say the biggest perk that is not physical is the enormous amount of resources that are available to all the employees. You can pick one topic that you either want to learn about or improve on and it’s right there at your fingertips.
What is the most exciting thing you are involved in outside of work?
I am new to the St. Louis area so exploring the city has been really fun so far. I also like to get involved in anything that has to do with history whether it be renovating a new house or writing an article about a forgotten neighborhood.
What items in your office could you not live without?
The emergency telephone numbers! Safety is non-negotiable right?
What is the most listened-to song on your iPod?
I newly rediscovered Otmar Libeirt, a guitarist, so I have been listening to a lot of that. And anything Journey is sure to repeat on my iPod.
What’s the most thrilling vacation you ever took?
I love to travel and be off the grid at the same time so road tripping off the coast of Mexico has to be the ultimate adventure I have experienced.
What’s the last book you read?
I am currently reading Gone With the Wind.
