What made you choose to work for Nestlé Purina? What makes you stay at Nestlé Purina?
Being born and raised in the St. Louis area I knew that the then Ralston Purina Company was a great St. Louis company. Also, almost 23 years ago when I applied, my sister-in-law worked here, so I had first-hand knowledge that it was a good company that appreciated their associates. In February 2010, I will celebrate my 23rd service anniversary. I've stayed with Nestlé Purina because I know that I am valued as an associate and the company continues to look for ways to improve.
What's something about working with Nestlé Purina that has surprised you?
That although we continue to experience change, everyone here is committed to doing the right thing, and embrace that change. A world-class organization like Nestlé Purina needs to continue to look into the future to ensure that we can always stay ahead of our competition and are able to meet our customer's needs.
What are some perks at Nestlé Purina that you enjoy?
Bringing pets to work, fitness center, company store, credit union, Nestlé's corporate perks website, our annual Holiday Gathering, there are just so many to mention! Nestlé Purina PetCare Company also offers a corporate daycare center that has received the highest accreditation possible!
What is the most exciting project you have been involved in at Nestlé Purina?
CDG sponsors a session every year called "Work-Out." This is when the CDG organization has sent a survey to all CDG associates to identify areas of opportunity. These issues are reviewed and a team of select associates are assembled to address each one. Senior management takes this survey very seriously and they're committed to improving the organization and continuing the commitment to make Nestle Purina "A Great Place to Work".
What is the funniest experience you've had a work?
Probably the funniest experience I've had was when I was with the company less than 1 year and the females in our department dressed as Purina cheerleaders to support our Marketing guys that played in a Charity Basketball game. We dressed in red & white checkerboard boxer shorts with Purina t-shirts and checkerboard suspenders! The next month our picture was featured in the monthly Quest magazine!
Tell us about your pet(s).
I have one dog named Reba. She is a 6-lb, apricot-colored Toy Poodle. She has quite a personality and is very lovable. She also can do tricks! As an empty-nester, she is definitely "our baby". My son also has a Dachshund named Willis. He comes to visit us quite often. He and Reba have a great time together. Once they are worn out, you can find one on each side of my lap!
What is the most exciting thing you are involved in outside of work?
What I enjoy the most outside of work is spending time with family and friends. I travel quite frequently so I really enjoy seeing everyone when I am home. I love to entertain at my home! I'm also a big sports fan (Cardinals, Rams, Blues). We have season tickets to the Rams, so that is always on the agenda!
What is the most listened to song on your iPod?
Jason Mraz's Mr. A-Z
If you weren't doing your current job, what would you be doing?
I would be volunteering either at a local hospital or charity.
What's one hidden skill or talent you have that would surprise your coworkers?
Although I don't think it would surprise them, I love to dance. Anytime there's music!
